I am delighted to be taking part in the blog tour for Good Girls by Amanda Brookfield.  Here is my review.

Good Girls is described as ‘a love story, a coming-of age story, a mystery and a tear-jerker. But most of all it’s a reminder of who to keep close and who to trust with your darkest secrets’.

The novel follows the story of Kat and Eleanor Keating, two sisters who have very different personalities. Told using multiple points of view, the plot twists and turns throughout the lives of the sisters and the people they are closest to.

The first chapter begins with Eleanor making the journey to visit Kat, who is recovering from an operation to remove a small tumour. It is clear that something has created a divide between them.

The story of their past gradually unravels through flashback chapters and character conversations. Good Girls deals with some difficult issues as the secrets are revealed. The reaction of the characters is captured wonderfully through the way the plot is structured.

Good Girls covers the full range of human emotions from happiness and laughter to sadness and tears. The novel explores different relationships and questions how much people really know about what is going on in the lives of those around them.

I highly recommend this book as it is both moving and uplifting.

Amanda Brookfield is the bestselling author of 15 novels including Relative Love and Before I Knew You, and a memoir, For the Love of a Dog starring her Golden Doodle Mabel.
